PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION

DRIVEWAYS, ROADS & ISSUES
The BLPOA requires anyone creating or modifying a driveway to obtain a free permit from our Road Director before any soil is moved. The Road Director will meet with you to show you how to meet the BLPOA's requirements that will prevent your driveway from negatively impacting our roads. A driveway permit from the town does not take into account the BLPOA's concerns so we require a seperate permit. Contact the Road Director via email: roads@blpoa.com

Most of the roads in the association are not paved. They require special care that many may not fully realize. Road maintenance represents a significant portion of BLPOA Membership Dues. Excessive speed is the number one issue that negatively impacts an unpaved road. The faster a vehicle travels on it - the more dust is put into the air. Emergency braking and steering maneuvers that may be required due to excessive speed are much more difficult to control. Parents with children that ride dirt bikes, ATVs, etc. should be educated that speeding and intentionally breaking traction (spinning tires, skidding, etc) tears up the road. Please observing our 15 MPH for the safety of everyone and to help keep the costs of road maintenance down.

Any downed wires & utility poles and the areas around them should be avoided. Any metal (wire, cable, guardrail, sign pole, etc.) and even soil (under the right conditions) may be energized and cause shock, burns or even death if contacted. Please dial 911 and notify Eversource at once if you encounter any of these situations. If possible, stay to warn others until authorities arrive .
